Around the age of 10 my mum paid for an experience flight on an old Auster that was doing circuits around the airfield, and from that moment I had a fascination with aviation.
Service in the armed forces followed, with time home and abroad, during which I had incredible experiences that I look back on with amazement, along with time spent deployed on operations.
In civilian life I trained in IT, and managed teams of engineers before working as a specialist in network security.
Around this time I discovered the sport of Triathlon, and went on to compete at all distances in the UK and Europe, and even enjoyed an Ironman or two, before training as a coach, and going on to coach some talented athletes, including those competing at interntional level.
These days, my time is spent managing specialist services in Yorkshire, travelling, and a little bit of writing and drawing.
